Lifemom of the Month

Jenn Minnich

About Jenn

Jenn Minnich was born in Southern New Jersey on March 2, 1981, but lived all over the country (she was a military brat). Actually, before finishing college, Jenn went to ten different schools in 8 different states! She currently lives in Southeastern Pennsylvania with her fiance Tim and her grandmother. She is a birthmother to Blake Nicholas who will be 19 months old this June. He was born on November 7, 2002 and they have shared a very open adoption; Jenn and Blake's adoptive parents were friends for about four years before they were blessed with his birth. Jenn used to babysit for their other 3 sons. Jenn and Blake's adoptive parents have always had that "family-like" relationship. Blake's adoptive father worked with Jenn's dad in the Coast Guard which provided many opportunities for picnics, vacations, and bonding long before any talk of adoption came about.

In addition to working on maintaining a healthy open adoption, Jenn is also planning her wedding with her high school sweetheart, Tim. They truly have the typical "Cinderella Story," and they are anxiously awaiting the moment they can stand in front of their families, in front of God, and in front of each other to profess their undying love and devotion to each other on July 30, 2005.

Jenn has contributed many of her writings and poems to Lifemothers.com, FM Magazine, Birthmom Buds, and a private MSN group called Two Different Kinds of Love (TDKOL for short). Her contributions don't stop at writing, though! She is a "helper" with Birthmom Buds which includes sending out e-mails to new members with their buddy information, submitting articles, poems, and ideas for the monthly newsletter, as well as volunteering for the pregnant and placing mentoring program. Jenn is also one of the assistant managers in TDKOL, helping Skye run the group smoothly while continuing to build lifelong friendships.
